Customs sending options online

When sending items to a non-EU country or autonomous region within the EU, you must attach a customs declaration to the shipment.

Goods exceeding €1,000 in value require an additional declaration to be made to the Estonian Tax and Customs Board.

An export declaration must also be added to the shipment before handing it over to Omniva.

While registering a shipment to a country that requires a customs declaration, some additional information fields appear that must be filled in. Check out the details for more information.

Post office

At the post office, a customs declaration can be filled out and attached to a shipment before sending it. In case of sending a shipment to a non-EU country, the sender is obligated to complete the customs declaration form.

What is the declaring procedure for Ukrainian war refugees?
Based on a decision of the European Commission, the declaration of personal belongings sent to Ukrainian war refugees has been simplified and exemption is granted under the following conditions:
Ukrainian war refugees will be able to declare the parcel orally upon arrival if
- the country of origin of the parcel is Ukraine,
- the sender of the parcel is a private person,
- the recipient of the package has a temporary residence permit on the basis of temporary protection,
- the parcel must contain the recipient’s personal belongings.
If all these conditions are met, the parcel may be declared orally, regardless of its value.
To make an oral declaration, the recipient of the parcel must contact Omniva’s customer service by phone at + 372 661 6616 or by email at info@omniva.ee.
A parcel can also be declared orally if the parcel has been sent to an Estonian person, but the person can prove that the actual recipient of the parcel is a Ukrainian war refugee.
NB! Parcels containing goods ordered or purchased online cannot be declared orally.
What are the sanctions and restrictions?

Be aware of the existing restrictions both when sending and receiving shipments. Overview of restrictions and sanctions is provided by the Tax and Customs Board.
Additional restrictions apply in case of sending to and receiving from Russia and Belarus in accordance with the sanctions imposed by the European Union. Sanctions information is available on the website of the Estonian Tax and Customs Board.
Shipments sent to and received from these countries undergo thorough customs inspection and admissibility of the contents and compliance of the goods with the HS commodity code given in the declaration will be checked.

Shipments containing prohibited content will be returned to the sender.
