My letter is damaged
Private customer
If you see that the letter is damaged at the moment of receiving it:
- Open the damaged letter or parcel and check that its contents are intact.
- If the contents are damaged, communicate it immediately to the courier.
If you discover that you have received a damaged letter after delivery, please complete the Damaged or lost shipment form.
Be sure to file your damaged letter claim at the earliest opportunity from the discovery of the damage, but no later than 6 months after the shipment was handed over to Omniva.
Please note that it is generally only the sender who is eligible for a refund.
If you've sent a letter abroad and it got damaged, ask the recipient to immediately submit a compensation claim to the postal organization that delivered it.
