Authorisation

If you are unable to pick up the parcel yourself, another person can collect your letter or parcel on the grounds of a power of attorney. If the sender has asked for the parcel to be delivered to you personally, this will be stated in the notification of arrival of the parcel and the power of attorney will not be valid.

Which services require a power of attorney to collect a parcel?

Power of attorney is needed:
  • For registered/tracked parcels, these can be identified by the beginning of the following parcel code: RR, CC, CP, JJEE, CE.
Power of attorney is not required:
  • For parcels delivered to the address of the recipient, such as courier deliveries, registered letters, parcels ordered from a post office to an address (can be accepted by anyone living there who is at least 15 years old).
  • For standard shipments – their bar code starts with L or U, but also with numbers 00, for example. The person picking up the shipment must carry their identity document (for example, an ID card).
  • Parcels with the e-Package service – their bar code starts with RO, RA, RS, RL and ends with EE. The person picking up the shipment must carry their identity document (for example, an ID card).
  • A parcel from a parcel machine addressed to a post office only requires the recipient to show a message with the door code (no power of attorney is required, just an SMS).

Please note!
  • The authorised person must be at least 15 years of age, a student card is not a document, an identity document (e.g. ID card, passport) is required.
  • The power of attorney cannot be written with the service ‘Delivery to a specific person’ (e.g. hire purchase contract parcel).
How to authorise?

If you wish, you can send us a digitally signed power of attorney. Be sure to include information about the post office where the parcel is located. Send it by e-mail to [email protected]
If you submit a digital power of attorney before 4 p.m. on a working day, transactions can be made on the next working day.
Power of attorney can be written freely on paper or using our custom form. You must include:

  • the date when the power of attorney was issued;
  • your first name and surname, and personal identification code. Legal bodies must include their name, registry code and the first and last name of the person issuing the power of attorney, their date of birth and place of residence;
  • the contents of the power of attorney – actions that the mandatary can perform;
  • how long the power of attorney is valid for; and
  • your signature.

The power of attorney must carry the signature of a legal representative (e.g. member of the board, authorized signatory).

Types of power of attorney

Power of attorney can be a one-off, multiple or general. The maximum validity of the power of attorney is 3 years.

  1. One-off power of attorney
    Authorises the retrieval of one specific parcel.
  2. Multiple power of attorney
    Authorises the retrieval of multiple parcels within a specific period of time. A copy of the document will stay with the post office, and its original must be submitted every time a parcel is retrieved.
  3. General power of attorney
    Has been given to the mandatary for general procedural operations. A copy of the document will stay with the post office, and its original must be submitted every time a parcel is retrieved. The power of attorney is not valid if the ‘Delivery to a specific person’ is ordered.
